RRG Huddersfield Toyota has been a long standing supporter of the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. Over the years the car dealership, situated on Leeds Road, has taken part in a variety of fund raising activities for the Hospice, last year providing £2,000 for their Greenhouse Project.
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports children with life-shortening conditions, not only in Huddersfield but across the whole of West Yorkshire and North Manchester. For the past 2 years RRG Huddersfield Toyota have provided the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice with a Toyota Aygo, which has enabled the Hospice to reach more families in need. The dealership has committed to continuing this for another year and the Hospice recently received their new car.
Forget Me Not Children's Hospice Director of Care, Sharon Burton Said: "The Aygo is an invaluable means of transport for our families. Whether the child is born alive or not, having the Aygo means they can travel together from hospital to hospice or home. Without the Aygo the parents would be separated from the baby thus losing precious time and memories of babies first car journey. Every parent wants to experience that first car journey and the Aygo enables that. In addition we support our families in taking them in the Aygo to birth/death registration, hospital appointments to see specialist advisors or to transport them to meet other parents at the hospice at our support groups. Having or losing a child with a life limiting condition is very isolating; the more we can facilitate interaction with others the better their journey is".
RRG Huddersfield Transaction Manager, Andy Haigh said: “We are more than happy to continue our support of the Forget Not Children’s Hospice by providing a vehicle for a third year. We recognise the amazing work the charity does for families in our community and we are happy to be able to assist them where we can”.
