On Friday 29th July RRG Huddersfield Service Advisor Emma Crowther ‘Braved the Shave’ alongside her best friend, Louise King in honour of Louise’s mum, Angela Beldon who passed away from Cancer in December 2014. During her battle, Angela was provided with vital support by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Prior to the shave staff at RRG Huddersfield held a Coffee Morning to help raise additional funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The shave took place in the Toyota Showroom, with support from staff, friends and family.
Emma said: “Macmillan took care of Louise’s mum throughout her illness until the day she died. They really supported her, so we decided to raise money for the charity. We never do things by halves! Anyone can do a run, a walk, a cycle ride or a swim but we thought having our heads shaved – especially at our age – would be a real challenge. I’m not regretting it – yet. I might do when my hair starts to grow back and I can’t do anything with it!”
Emma and Louise set a target of raising £1,000 from the shave, however they have smashed this target and to date they have raised over £1,800.
Everyone at RRG Huddersfield, would like to say a big well done to Emma and Louise for raising such a large amount for a worthy cause.
